I just read a post about chlorine and migraines.....

I have been on a quest to lose weight and try to get healthy since January. I haven't been on here much, I admit. I was in the hospital over New Years with possible meningitis. They still don't know for sure if it was meningitis or just severe migraines. At any rate, I had a high white cell count in my spinal tap. They suspected a light case of meningitis. I have never had such pain in my life. I never want to again. I've lost about 40 pounds...

had chinese last night and Please suggest any good salad dressings!

I had chinese last night....asked for no msg....the waitress had a good grasp of English even though she was Chinese. She said the soup and eggroll had no msg but I was doubtful because I had to ask for no msg in the meal. How could they put "no msg" in an eggroll and a bowl of soup when a bowl of soup was made by the pot and an egg roll was premade ahead of time? I only ate about a third of the eggroll and stayed away from the plum...

ugh...msg...again :(

YIKES! I decided I was going to have a can of progresso soup for supper. I'm trying to watch my weight and lose lbs. I picked up the can, glanced at it....thought, oh its a good brand, glanced at the ingredients and didn't see it...well, obviously MISSED it somewhere....about fifteen minutes after I ate I started running the bathroom and sneezing. did it give me a clue??? Well I ran for the immodium and benadryl and then fished the can...

Gripe! MSG!

I was just getting off a migraine trip, thought from a Tubby's sandwich but now I wonder....and I started on another "trip"...started getting scared as it was at the back of my skull and was quite a bad one last night. I was coughing and sneezing badly too. Stuffyness was bad. I got up right away and took two benadryl (dr knows I take benadryl as needed so I assume its safe with all my meds, I only take it occasionally) and took a...

trying to get off fioricet

I'm trying to get off Fioricet, or at the very least cut down on the stuff. It seems I was getting headaches/migraines daily and had a constant ache and wonder now if the Fioricet was in fact causing it. My doctor told me to only take it at most once a week and try not to take it unless I really need it. I have dark circles under my eyes and have had a sleep study done and been diagnosed with restless legs but refuse the meds for it as I...

Questions for dr on the 16th

As anyone following my posts know, I've been hospitalized for my headaches and migraines. They thought/said I had viral meningitis but I don't totally think that was true. I had bronchitis and had been taking the fortfense stuff that they make to help you fight the flu/virus's. I wonder if it boosted my white cell count. They said my white cells were really high. So...at any rate....the excruciating headaches have gone away. I am...

has fioricet been recalled??????

I read somewhere (in a discussion???) that fioricet was recalled. I also heard on tv or read somewhere that there was a link between caffeine and tylenol and kidney or liver failure and that just drinking pop and taking tylenol can cause damage. Is fioricet a problem or a concern? Does anyone have an answer to this question? I will question my doctor next time I go in, but for now he has me on it every six hours and I'm pretty much taking it...

A Painful New Years

Well, 2007 went out with a bang and 2008 came in with a roar. I have meningitis and its exacerbating my migraines. Really a great combination. If you think your migraines are painful, I don't wish you ever to feel the pain from the stiffness of meningitis, combined with the auras and pain from the throes of a migraine. NOT a fun thing to have. I went into the emergency room Saturday morning (the 29th?) of December because my neurologist...

I need help with fioricet

I need help, the doctor prescribed fioricet (well the generic, says bitalibital/apap/caffeine tabs. It only says take one tablet by mouth as needed. HOW OFTEN can I take them??? Does anyone know? I know they have tylenol in them which means I need to be careful not to overdose on it and kill my liver! I've been up most of the night, it isn't doing much for me at all. I plan to call the doctor as soon as they open. I have wrote down...

My Day At The Neurologist

Well my day went pretty well. I was a little nervous about meeting a new doctor but he was a riot! He was so funny and comical he set me at ease!!!! When he was walking me out he goes "walk this way" and started walking like a penguin ala Marx Brothers LOL. He was a hoot! He said the problems with my eyes weren't bothered by topamax, and he'd seen it help a lot of people. I go back to the eye doctor right after new years, so...
