First post

By warped99 Thursday, March 06, 2008
I am new on here and just wanted to say a quick hi, as I am trying to get through this headache long enough to post anything. I have been fighting this migraine since Saturday, Maybe it started when they told me how much my eye exam and contacts were going to be lol. This all started a few years back when I worked security at a lage building and I went around asking for some asprin and a lady on the 5th floor gave me a couple and said that every one keeps them if I ever need any again. She said something about "sick building syndrome". She said that they were all moving to another office building. They did, the whole 5th floor moved out. The other girl that worked the weekend shift there (security) also had migraines. I had never had one before and she said that's probably what I was getting. I started getting them more often and have ever since then. Don't know if there really is any correlation beween the headaches and that building or not. Worked there for a year.

Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

Migraine is a genetic neurologic disease. Trigger identification and management can often help people reduce the number of Migraine attacks they have. I'm pretty sure the "building" is not causing your Migraines, however, there may be something in the building, like lights, or computer screens that are triggering an attack. One of the best ways to find out what is or isn't triggering a Migraine attack is to keep a Migraine diary. You can find that information HERE. Our Migraine Trigger information page has ideas on how to make life a bit easier when dealing with Migraine disease.

Thanks for the info, I know it has more to do with weather changes and a pattern around my menstral cycle more than anything, both of these factors always trigger migraines for me. Apparently from reading bits and pieces on this site means I have learned nothing from my doctor. Glad I found this!
