How to find relief without being considered a drug addict

By kjlhostetter Thursday, August 09, 2007

Hi, I am new to the connection and was wondering if anyone could give me some help.?  I have been suffering from Migraines for over seven years and get them sometimes six times a month, but I don't always go to the doctor to get pain medication. Ido know what works to take care of the pain when I do go. Recently I moved to a rural area and picked a Primany Care Physcian because they are also an Urgent Care Facility. I went in and explained all of my ailments and was truthfull with her 100%. I thought everything was going to work out fine. But, for the last three months when I have had to go in for really severe painfull Migraines and have exhausted all options we had discussed I do before coming in I did. The only relief she has been willing to give me is anti nausea medication. She tells me to go home and sleep and I will feel better. I have told her many times that I have tried that before coming to see her. That is why I am there, I am in pain and need help. She refuses to help me, She tells me that one shot for pain is going to cause rebound headaches. The one time I did go to the ER at the hospital here they treated me like a drug addict because I couldn't tell them the name of the drugs the other hospital used to treat me, I did know of one and it was a strong one. They ran up a bill for over $800.00 which after my insurance paid their part I had to pay $400.00. I need help, can anyone out there help me, I am not a drug addict, I just need help with the pain.Cry
