It sounds like you really need to see a neurologist, especially if you have not been to one yet. What you wrote sounded exactly what I was going through until I saw my neuro. While I am still getting migraines almost every day, I found that nerve blocks help, so if you can, I recommend that you look into those. Hope this helps.

do they still use those or have they changed the name? I know that pain medication like any of the morphine based type drugs really don't work and imitrex is the only thing that works for me via I.V . I have seen A anesthesiologist and he is a pain dr. also for my pain meds for my back they don't take my migraines away either tried the occipital block shots both sides that seems to take the edge of to where you can move and do most of your daily things ..that is all i can think of at this point ..
What has your doctor said or done to help?
Pain medications can cause rebound if used more than two or three days a week. Unfortunately, so can triptans such as Relpax. An additional problem to rebound is that preventives are unlikely to work if we're in rebound. Take a look at Medication Overuse Headache: When the Remedy Backfires for more on this.
ERs and urgent care facilities are, unfortunately, a problem for many of us. Jerks go there "seeking drugs," and saying they have a Migraine is one way they do it. That doesn't excuse how true Migraineurs are sometimes treated, but it's a big reason why it happens.
ER and urgent care problems are one reason it's so important for us to have our own doctors who take care of us and help us find the right treatment reigmen. If your doctor isn't helping, it's time to have a talk with him or find a new doctor.
