I am a 34 year old female and about 6 months ago I started having bad allergies and constant migraines with aura. I have always had migraines but not this often. I have no signs it hits fast, first the Aura the the cold hands my heads doesn't hurt it is just my left eye sight goes so I can't see much. Please if you can suggest what could be causing please let me know. I have spent a lot of money and time and my doctor still does not know why I get them. I did have seizures when I was small but grew out of them. Christina.
Migraine patterns can change over time with no real explanation. It's possible that you've developed more Migraine triggers. One of the best tools for identifying triggers is a good Migraine diary. You can download a free diary workbook from our article Your Migraine and Headache Diary. Some Migraineurs have food triggers; some don't. An elimination diet is the best way to determine if you do. For more information and a workbook on this, see Managing Migraine - Migraine Trigger Foods.
Since you're not making progress with your doctor, perhaps it's time to consult a Migraine and headache specialist. It’s important to note that neurologists aren’t necessarily Migraine and headache specialists. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists.
We'd love to be able to give you a more definitive answer, but that's just not possible via the Internet.
