My daughter since the age of 10 has had migraines, this runs in the family, but not her type Hemiplegic Migraine - since the age of 16 she has been given Statol, over the last 2 years she has been given Topimax, which raised her acid levels to the point of Dieing !!! It has also affected her kidneys. Do they not have any other source but DRUGS !!! These things (migraines) aren’t new; they have been around for years. The medical establishment doesn't seem to look for alternative ways. Not all but some doctors just seem to write scripts and send you out the door- My daughter has lost jobs and has not been able to work for a year! Do you have a direction she could go to get help and function as a normal person??? Please don't give me the sales pitch, just answer a question as specifically as you can without the politically correct version.
While I understand your frustration, it is misdirected to direct it at us with, "don't give me the sales pitch, just answer a question as specifically as you can without the politically correct version." That is certainly not what this column is about. We always do our best to answer questions for the benefit of the patient.
