My boss recently asked me if I had a stuttering problem. I explained to him that sometimes one of my Migraine symptoms is that I stutter or slur my words. What happens during a Migraine attack that causes the stuttering or slurring of words and why does it only happen sometimes? Thank you, Anne.
I can’t tell you the what happens part, but speech and cognitive problems are often part and parcel of a migraine; as many as 70% of Migraineurs will have cognitive difficulty before or during a migraine.
