Hi, congratulations on getting some traction with your migraines. I also have a casein allergy. Did your chocolates have any allergy warnings, specifically a milk- or dairy-free facility? I have found that cross-contamination is a major factor in determining my migraine triggers. Another brand to try is Enjoy Life. I'm a big fan of their dark chocolate bar, which is made in a dairy, nut and soy-free facility. Good luck!

Today's less expensive chocolate mfgers use fake vanillas, not  vanilla extract. The ones to void are vanillin, vanilla, or natural flavors. The problem might be with a chemical used in the processing, as other such additives also cause migraines in me - caramel coloring, annatto, chocolate liquor, molasses, etc.  The food industry depends on chemical flavoring and coloring.
