Full Question:
I am a long time complex migraine sufferer. I only call them migraines so people will a have a general idea of what I'm talking about, what I suffer from is not a headache. I am 47 and my migraines started around age 10, these episodes were so severe there where times I considered taking some pretty final steps. I would lose most of my vision, lose control of bodily functions and in rare cases would lose blood circulation to my arms and legs and not be able to move. The pain was incredible. I had all the tests, x-ray, MRI, blood, diabetes and some I'm sure I've forgotten about and all were negative. I have tried all the drugs including Imitrex, not even a dent. As a child I would go to the hospital and get a morphine injection and bingo that would put my out of my misery. By my thirties I stopped having them and then maybe once every 6 month or year. Then for maybe five or ten years nothing. Unfortunately last week I had three!?... not nearly as bad as when I was a child but still each one will, for the most part, put you out of commission for 2 days. So now I guess I have to go back to the doctor. I would like to find a specialist here in the Denver area? I had used some liquid morphine for a while which put a minor dent in the pain but was not nearly as strong as an injection, so I am looking for something close to an injection if possible.

Any help would be appreciated. Bill.

Answer:

Dear Bill;

There are several headache experts in the Denver area: you can find their contact information below via the link to our directory of patient recommended specialists. They have been the community for quite awhile and I would strongly suggest consulting with them for treatment issues.

Good luck,
John Claude Krusz and Teri Robert
