My question pertains to the CPAP machine that I have tried unsuccessfully to use. I have tried different face and nasal mask to see if it would help any but it hasn't. The sleep number and humidity numbers have also been changed by the doctor several times. I was diagnosed with mild sleep apnea so I really don't think the machine was necessary in the beginning. My question is: many times I would wake during the night or morning with a bad headache/migraine. The sleep doctor always said "NO" it was not the machine that was causing it but when I did not sleep with the machine there was no head pain and then when I would put the mask back on for several nights I would have the pain. Now I tried this on and off for 9 months and now have stopped completely. I can't say that I have waked with head pain since I stopped the machine. What is your opinion? Thank you, Marlene.
Many people with sleep apnea will awaken with headaches or will have them in the morning. That seems to be part of that clinical condition. I have not specifically heard a description like yours but anything is possible. What is important for me is the quality of sleep and if a person is not waking up refreshed them something hopefully could be made better about increasing sleep quality. There are many approaches to this.
