Sounds very similar to what I get. I have hormonal migraines that are getting worse the older I get. There are days that my eyes are so bothered by the migraine I can't read or look at anything because it intensifys the pain. Sitting in the neurology waiting room yesterday updating my medication sheet had me in tears. Good luck finding someting!
visual eye stress may be a symptom of visual perceptual difficulties and it is common for people with VPD to suffer from Migraines. The problem is not with the physical eye but with the visual processing area of the brain. ordinary eye examination will be normal. A Meares Irlen examination can be helpful and can identify visual perceptual difficulty. For my child we were referred to a visual specialist who provided the advice we needed to help reduce visual stress and related migraines.
I had a contact lens exam a little over a month ago and I guess everything was good. I have always had this problem though. I can't seem to read without getting a headache or even read in the car while moving. Migraines run in my family as well as other problems.
Have you found an answer to this problem? Mine is similar. I have had migraines for years, but they have evolved to silent migraines, and now, any close-up work, like reading, for a length of time brings on severe nausea. If I continue my activity, it brings on all the usual migraine symptoms, but without much head pain. My vision is perfect-have seen my eye doctor twice. Am looking for an answer, too.
no, sorry. I have not figured out what the cause is or why it happens.
