    J,

It never hurts to have the tests. Just to rule out anything else wrong. Sounds like you are on a lot of differnent medications. I too have been on all you mentioned. Except, I take Xanax not Valum. I take Darvocet instead of Percocet. I think Midrin is the best thing that helps me. Yet, I took one today, and the migriane is coming back. ( I have a cold too. ) That doesn't help either.

I'm 42, and have had migraines for 16 years at least. I use to get headaches, and could get by, but migraines.......no, I can't function. It's frustrating I know. I had to stop working in July of 2007. I can't get disability. I'm not sure what to do next. I made another appointment for a new neurologist.

I pray and I don't have much stress ( we all have some stress) I kept getting everyone, I mean everyone, even doctors saying it was just stress. Well, I quit my job, got a puppy, and I'm in peach and quiet all day, except when I have appointments. My daughter is 22 and don't see her a lot. I am active in a Bible study group once a week, when I can go. (not tonight).

I've had people tell me that I need to "rebuke," the migraines, and that it's a curse, and I get so aggravated. I have Faith, I do. I just feel like this is a disease that not many understand or is known of, and there has to be the "right" medications to take care of them. I had CT's and MRI's and they all came back normal. I just had my neck worked on, a Discectomy, and I'm still having migraines. My neck pain is 60-70% better. So, There's no good answers, I'm sorry to say, but keep praying hard, it does help. Keep doing what you are doing and don't give up. It's hard I know.

    Well take care.

    Denise

This animation shows one of the key causes of pain during a migraine--changes to the blood flow within the brain.
