Top 75 Migraine and Headache Questions, #25

Ask the Clinician Health Pro
  • Full Question:
    I had been getting two full migraines a year and four mini migraines in a row once a month. I take 25mg of Topamax in the morning and 50mg at night. I still can get the four mini migraines in a row but not so strong. Unfortunately today I have a medium size migraine without the nausea. Why with Topamax would I get such a strong migraine headache? Lita.

    Answer:

    Dear Lita;

    It's most likely one of two problems -- either your dosage of Topamax isn't high enough for you or Topamax isn't the right medication for you. No preventive medication works for every Migraineur. Speak with your doctor about this.
