I, too, have been on way too much drugs, drug cocktails, etc. in an attempt to control my migraines.  I've had them since I was 15, but after my son was born 9 years ago, they became a daily occurrence.  In 8 years, I"ve seen 6 neurologists in the Austin, TX area.  Each had different ideas and different treatment plans.  The one thing they had in common was NOT listening to me.  I finally found my dream doctor, Sara Westgate.  She and her team have given me as many as 6 days in a row migraine free.  I have some muscular issues in my shoulder, neck, jaw and head.  Botox and sarapin injections have addressed these issues and caused a dramatic decrease in migraine attacks.  I feel like a new person.  Fewer triptans, less phenergan, fewer narcotics, etc.  Life is improving every day and I actually have hope of being painfree for as long as two weeks!!

Continue to be pro-active in your Migraine Relief program.  Keep trying.  For me getting away from Imitrex was a blessing.  I no longer have migraines that last for 10 days.  I use Migranal to abort my headaches.  I take Tizanidine as a preventatvie plus I do acupuncture.  My headaches have gone from 15 per month to 4!

There is a combination of things that will help you feel better.

I have also had migraines for over 20 years. I came to realize in the last few years that the closer I got to menopause the more I was sensitive to my triggers and other factors became .Recently my doctor, with blood tests, told me stop taking my birth control pills becasue my levels are that of menopause. I usually get a wicked migraine the week of my period. I got it and did not take my birth control pill as usual. My migraine lasted 8 days straight. I saw my physician and she told me my body most likely looking for the hormons from the pill and when I did not get it my body reacted. After that my migraines are still here but I am waiting to see what the rest of the month brings. The only meds I take are imitrex with two aleve.  I hope this helps. I also do accupuncture for migraine, it has helped a lot.
