How can I explain bipolar to my 14 yr old nephew when my Dad has filled him full of mis-information

My 14 yr old nephew is staying with me for two weeks and I want to explain bipolar to him in a way he can understand. Too sensitive about the use of the word "Migraine"?

I had plans with a friend on Monday. I had to cancel because I had a migraine. She said "Oh, I'm about to get Migraines too because we're remodeling the kitchen". Why are "Barometric Pressure Migraines" not listed in "Types of Migraines"-really bothered

Had to write email to "comments" asking them to consider adding Barometric Pressure Migraines to their list. These are real migraines, caused by weather, and can be one of the hardest of the migraines to prevent.
