how do you get the doctors to understand that there's a difference between clusters and migraines?

i, for one, cannot tell the difference. so how / where do i educate myself so that i can be a better patient and maximize my treatment options? ~mouse

Day 12 and counting

Well...on day 12 of the headache, I find that my MRI is clear, and the word from my pcp is keep on trying the zomig and if you don't get any relief, make a neurology appt. This sounds ok until you realize that I am again where I was several years ago. It has really probably been 2-3 years since I have gone more than 1 day headache... Read more Chevron

Does anyone treat migraines with pain medicine?

I have been to a few nuerologists and they put me on many different kinds of triptans, topomax, antidepressants and I have no luck. The only thing that sometimes work is narcotics(what they give in the er through iv). I understand that Doctors do not want to prescribe this type of medicine but when it works it works and when the migraine is over... Read more Chevron

Topamax is a miracle for me.

topamax problems

I have migraines and was given topamax. Just yesterday, I was told I have high plood pressure. I am in shock. All my life, I have had trouble with low blood pressure. I wonder if Topamax can cause this? Has anyone else had a problem with this? I am now on blood pressure medicine and off of topamax. I just pray the headaches don't start up... Read more Chevron
