Is Guaifenesin still a tx for fibro

I just talk with a friend who knows someone who was almost cure of fibro. Apparently she still has very mild symptoms. I have not heard of that in the last 10 years . Is it still a tx in vogue ? I have a cold so I will  splurge on it.....!!!!!
