I have been getting migraines for 6 months now but they last for most of of the month.  I wake up with the back of my head still throbbing in pain so much that I don't want to get out of bed. Is this normal? Is this still the migraine?

It could be a migraine but since you have been waking up them you may br grinding your teeth a night. Or, it could as simple a finding better pillows. If you are not sleeping well you may need darker curtains for your rooms.  With this HA going for so long you you may want to your MD again. He/She give you some names of neuro doctor.

I have had migraines for a LONG time and what works for some can make others worse.l

You are in my thought and I am sending goodInnocent feelings towaed you. Please let me know what worked for you.
