How do you find a doctor that is willing to help you? I live in North Texas

I have seen several nuro doctors. The last one did a 3 month detox plan where I did not take anything and I did not go to the E.R for help. I did the 3 month detox and when I returned to the doctor, he said that there was nothing else he could do for me and said to go back to my PCP. The doctor I am seeing now has me on Midrin. He also just started me on fish oil and niacin. Nothing is helping! I have been on several different kinds of meds over the years and nothing has helped. I feel like the doctor I have right now has just given up with out even trying! Is there any help out there for someone like me?

Hi Countrygirl!

Of course there is help out there for you! We have a list of patient recommended Migraine Specialist that you can take a look at.

Bottom line is, if your doctor is unwilling to have you as a constructive member of your healthcare team, it's time to (in the words of Miss Teri Robert) "Fire his sorry butt!"

If you are getting more then 2-3 Migraines a month, then you would be a candidate for preventive Migraine treatment: Migraine preventives: Too many options to give up!

Good luck!
