Q: social security income

has anyone been denied SSD or SSI even though your migraines disable you and have changed your lifestyle ..? My hearing is in 18 days, after waiting 3 years to get here..I have other issues for SSI , but the migraines are the most debilitating..

 Hi animallover,

I waited a long time to and was awarded SSDI. You can read about my "journey" in this article: My Social Security Disability Journey.

What I found most important was explaining what things I was unable to do everyday  in great detail. As sad as it sounds, before I fell, I was able to finish the laundry in one day. Now I can barely do one load a day. No carrying the laundry basket - kids do it. And so on. There are some helpful sites for information about what to say and not to say at your hearing: SSDI secrets

I hope this helps,

Nancy

Nancy,

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my question. The link was also very helpful. Sorry to hear about your journey..It has been a long struggle for me as well...I am in debt, have no money and rely on friends, my elderly father for help. Medicaid was a blessing , which also had to be fought for. I am now anxious about the hearing I waited so long for..it is so hard to lose your life the way we once knew it to be...then to go from 762 credit score to broke adds more stress ...well , the hearing is the 18 and I will do my best ...just don't know if I can take all my meds and sound like a drooling idiot or don't and suffer in pain during it ??

God Bless & thank you again,

Lisa

Are you all set for the hearing? Do you need anything? Do let me know.
