My migraines was under control for a while, when I was out of work back in 2009 due to not being able to afford my medicine I advantage came off of Topamax and I was doing ok, I had less migraines a month, so I really didn't have to worry about getting my meds refilled but for the last month, my migraines has increase again and the pain is worst this time. I'm so confused I don't know what to do, my doctor has put me back on Topamax and I have pain meds, I would really love to know why have they increase and the pain is worst. My doctor haven't order any test or anything at this point and I have missed about 5 days from work in the last month and being to urgent care once and to the ER. I really need some HELP

Hi masonrw,
Migraine patterns can change over time and as we age. There may be more triggers you are encountering, your hormones may be changing, it could really be a number of things or a combination of things. I wish I could tell you why, but I'm afraid no one really can.
Have you tried keeping a Migraine diary? It is a great tool to use to find out what is and isn't triggering a Migraine attack, and what medications are and are not working when you have a Migraine. Here is a free version you can download and share with your doctor, try it for at least three months, you may be surprised!
