My first real experience with chronic head pain...

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

Hi lissanegles,

When we take medications for pain, we do not become addicted to them, but may become dependent. It's when people continue taking pain medications after the pain is gone, that we should be concerned about addiction. There is a difference between addiction and dependence. We have a good article on this topic from on of our sites ChronicPainConnection.com: Opioids: Addiction vs. Dependence.

I hope  that helps.

Nancy
