Hi madonna,

As much as I'd love to be able to answer your question, the only person who can safely do that is a doctor who can review your and your family's medical history, discuss your symptoms with you, and conduct a complete examination. Nobody can diagnose via the Internet.

One of the most important things is to get an accurate diagnosis. This will simplify matters and make it easier for you to get information and treatment. Doctors usually go by the gold standard for diagnosis, the International Headache Society's International Classification of Headache Disorders, 2nd Edition (ICHD-II), you can read more about this in The Type of Migraine Does Matter.

Good luck

Nancy

Madonna,

As said in your previous answer definately see a professional headache specialist. Have you been keeping track of when this pain occurs most? I would reccomend strongly to keep a "headach diary" and track which side hurts, when the pain is worst,if it is consistant, when it may flare up badly, if it goes away, if you get dizzy/dired/when your eye waters, every little detail and exact times of the day every day. Do this for a week. If you can see a pattern in the days, and it seems consistant, from my experience, it MAY be a sign of having cluster headaches, which can cause pain on one side of the head and a watery eye. In order for a doctor to diagnose this they will need you to keep track of the occurances though, so write it down. Hope this helps.
