Hi cheree,

No, fioricet is not an opiate, but a pain reliever and relaxant containing butalbital and acetaminophen. Butalbital belongs to a group of drugs called barbiturates.

Opiates, are narcotic analgesics (pain relievers) and include methadone, oxycontin and morphine.

I hope that helps.

Nancy

Fioricet is a barbiturate which will make you fail a drug test.

Is the fioricet prescribed for you? If so, take the prescription bottle with you to the testing facility. They're not looking for medications that are prescribed for you, just things that may have been obtained illegally!

Good luck with your new job!
