Q: can topamax be used on a 2 year old that has been diagnosed with compact small seizures?

He has no actual signs of epilepsy.  First he was diagnosed with a high body temperature that supposedly gave him the seizures, in the hospital we were told they were called compact small seizures.  to date they treat him with topamax.  Could it be dangerous for the child later on?
