Everyone is different regarding medication issues. As to why you're taking Lyrica for epilepsy I cannot answer and will not begin to attempt. What I will say is I am taking topomax and Fellbatol currently. I have been on Topomax for years and never had any issues with gaining weight and I've been an MBA student for the past 2 years studying online. My butt has been planted in front of the computer either researching, reading, or writing thesis papers for the past two years for this degree.   Prior to that I was taking Topomax still but I was on a different mix of medication. I had been taking Lamictal and Inderal which is a beta blocker. Now if you don't have any issues with your blood pressure I suggest not to try it. Reason, if you don't have issues, the medication can cause a problem. We tried it to see if it would work.   Oh, before I did the switch over to where I am now, I also tried something called Zonegran and for me, that did absolutely nothing. I will say it again every person will react differently. The reactions which I have may not be what you would have in taking the same type of medication.   What I can best suggest is to ask a lot of questions to both your neurologist and to your pharmacist.   Best of luck!   -SueLynn
