Q: I have chronic migraines with earaches and sinus infections. What is Endodermal proceedure ?

I am a chronic migraine suffer, started about 15 years ago from blunt forced trauma to the left side of my face, but my migraines and earache are always on the right side,  I have been through the wringer so to speak, so many different medication, doctors and specialist. MRI, Cat scans, diets..nothing seems to work for very long at least. About 6 years ago I developed an earache with my migraine, now each time I have a migraine I also have an earache, sometime I have an earache and then I have a migraine.  This past year, I have developed with the earache, a sinus infection to go with the migraine and earache.  It will last about for about 5 to 7 days before it goes away.  I have went back to taking topmax, and also injection form of Imatrex when needed. I recently heard of a Dr. that does  accpuncture and a proceedure called  endodermal treatment ,  has had high success rate for migraine suffer,(since the 90's )can you tell me more about this proceedure?

Hello, Cheryl,

Many of us have problems with our ears, face, or even teeth aching during a Migraine. This is because of the placement of the branches of the trigeminal nerve, which becomes inflamed during a Migraine. Take a look at Pathways of Migraine.

If you're having frequent sinus infections, what you experience at that time could be either a Migraine or a different type of headache. Sinus headaches are rare, but do occur when we have a sinus infection.

As for this endodermal procedure, I have no idea what that might be. When I looked up endodermal in Webster's Medical Dictionary, it said:

"the innermost of the three primary germ layers of an embryo that is the source of the epithelium of the digestive tract and its derivatives and of the lower respiratory tract ; also : a tissue that is derived from this germ layer."

Many of us have found that the real turning point after years of searching for effective help with our Migraines is getting to a true Migraine specialist. If your doctor isn’t able to help, it may well be time to consult a Migraine and headache specialist. It’s important to note that neurologists aren’t necessarily Migraine and headache specialists. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists.

I hope this information helps, at least a bit. Please keep us posted?
