It seems as if everyday I am having a headache. What can I do to prevent them?
I have been diagnosed with migranes.....I have tried several types of meds to help control this problem....It seems though, everyday I am waking up with a headache.....It used to be one every once in a while but now they are becoming more frequent.....
Are you positive they are migraines? If you are getting them everyday and not take triptans they maybe what is called rebound headaches. If your body is used to taking a med everyday for headaches and you don't take the medicine it is sort of like your body/brain goes into a "withdrawal" type state. You may want to speak to your MD about helping you reduce the meds you are having to take daily. I went through the same thing (w/Tylenol and Advil) so my MD helped me with a step down program. I hope this information helps. Best wishes and I hope you can find ANYTHING that will help.
Feel free to email/ask me with any questions. I am not a MD but I have been a pharmacy technician for close to 20 years.
Also, have you thought about allergies to anything you have in your bedroom? Good luck!

Hi Lei!
Usually when a migraineur is experiencing "waking with migraines" it could be their sleep pattern. Are you getting enough well rested, uninteruppted sleep?
If this is a new pattern for you, you need to speak with your doctor.
Are you currently on preventive medication? Maybe something needs to be changed or adjusted.
Are you waking with migraines or a regular headache? Is it a Tension Headache?
You may also want to start keeping a headache diary, if you are not doing so already. This will help your doctor give you the best treatment by having an exact count of when you get your migraines and how often.
And, if you are getting migraines every day, it is possible you are in either MOH (medication overuse headache), if you are treating with OTC, triptans and other medications too freqently, or Status Migrainous if you are not getting at least a 4 hour break in pain (not including sleep) and this has lasted for more then 72 hours.
Your best bet would be call your neurologist or headache specialist if this is a new pattern.
Good luck!
