Q: What are the side effects of Namenda?

Just an update on Namenda, I've now been taking it for 6 weeks.  It hasn't stopped the migraines but it seems to have brought down the duration from 3-4 days to 1-2 days and I'm able to take pain meds and nauseau drugs to help with the pain and have some relief although it is not total relief it is better.  But since going to 10 mg. twice a day of Namenda I feel like I'm in fog is this normal? And is there anyone else who is using this medicaiton?

kossamouse,

The most common side effects of Namenda are tiredness, body aches, dizziness, constipation, and headache. You can read more about Namenda HERE.

I've been taking Namenda for several years now, and I've never noticed any "foggy" feeling. In fact, I find my concentration to be better. The only issue I have with it is that I need to remember to take it in the morning, or I have trouble sleeping.

If you haven't already, please mention this problem to your doctor.

Hope it keeps helping!

Teri

I have been taking Namenda for a numerous amount of months.  It seems to help for a few weeks then I get a bad cycle. Then the doc ups the doage. I'm now taking 30 mg. (for a week).  I am a chronic migraine sufferer and get minimum 3-4 headaches a week.  I have been able to go one week without a migraine. The Namenda website states the optimal dosage is 20 mg.   I'm nervous about the amount I am taking.  I do feel a little shakey and unbalanced.  Has anyone else had this same experience?

I started taking Namenda a few months ago and one of the reasons I love it is because I haven't had any side effects. It took about 6 weeks, maybe a little longer before I started to feel results (decrease in frequency & intensity of migraines).  Hang in there, hope it works out for you.
