Hi Tracy!   What a question! No head pain is normal. Getting just a "headache" is not normal. A Migraine? Even more so!   This neurologist you are seeing, did he try you on any Triptans to abort the Migraine process?   How long have you been seeing this neurologist? If s/he is not helping, it may be time to move on. We have a list of Patient Recommended Migraine Specialists here on the site. You may want to check them out.   Also, if your Migraine is lasting more then 72 hours, with no breaks in pain (not including sleep), then you are in Status Migrainous and need to seek medical attention ASAP. Staying in this state can increase your risk of stroke and other issues.   If all you have tried for prevention is Topamax, it may also be time to try something else if the Topamax does not seem to be working. There are over 100 medications currently being used for Migraine prevention.   We also have a forum here on the site, please feel free to stop in and join. You can use the same name and email you used for this side of the forum. You will be able to chat with experts as well as fellow Migraineurs. Makes you feel less alone.   Good luck to you! Eileen
