I am a 28 year old female and have been healthyall my life. At the beginning of November 2008 one day I just forgot my sons name and the words for nursery rhymes. This lasted only about 10 minutes but for the 2 weeks after that I could hardly hold a conversation because the words I had just said seemed to be echoing in my head and I was so put off by this I firgit what the next word in my sentence was. I also kept feeling as though I had passed out for a while and had just come round , even though I hadn't. The other feeling I got was that I was outside of my body and was looking at myslef from outside - sounds silly I know! Since then I have never felt "normal" again. Every day I wake up there are random songs going round and round in my head and all day I feel a bit disorientated and not completely with it. I never had any headaches to begin with, however over the past couple of weeks I have started to get headaches everyday. The other symptom I occasionally get is loss of feeling in my left arm.
Something similar to this happened in March last year, again with no headaches, but with more episodes of going numb on my left side. I was sent for an MRI which came back clear. Therefore they diagnosed Atypical Migraine.
Everytime I return to my doctor, he just says its some form of migraine and has finally referred me to a nuerologist again, which will take another 12 weeks or so for an appointment.
Please would you kindly let me have your thoughts on this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Kirsty
