Hi Andriana,
Before I went to a chiropractor and let them adjust my neck, I would investigate a Migraine specialist first. And I mean a REAL Migraine specialist, not just a neurologist who says they are headache specialists. Neurologists are fine doctors, but aren't able to be experts in any one area because they treat so many different conditions like MS, stroke, and epilepsy. A Migraine specialist treats one condition - ours - Migraines and headache disorders. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists.
There are so many options available to treat Migraine disease now. Over 100 medications in fact, don't lose hope. Take a look at this article for more information: Migraine Preventive Medications - Too Many Options To Give Up!
Good luck
Nancy
Having said that, most Migraine specialists we work with say chiropractor work is fine for lower back adjustments, but not so much for cervical spine.
I had very serious debilitating migraines. I saw a chiropractor and within a short time after that, the migraine stopped. This also helped my mother as well for migraines and neck pain. As in the case of us, the migraine was the result of pressure on a nerve that was easily corrected. And the adjustment felt awesome! I didn't realize how good I could feel! The chiropractic office was very educational and explained how your body and the nervous system all works. It makes complete sense if you understand it. Many people are mis-educated about what it does and how chiropractic works. My opinion: do some research on less invasive chiropractic treatments before jumping into a major procedure.
