Friday, October 30, 2009 taylor asks

Q: I have occipital and frontal lobe lesions along with migraines.

I am in the Military, I was in an accident in April 09 which caused a TBI since that time I have had black spots in my vision in right eye that will not go away, it has been 7 months and it seems to be worse, I have been seeing neuro since the accident, several eye Docs where floaters were ruled out. I am going through a lot at this time and the civilian docs in here don't seem to care about us to tell us the truth or to look for the truth. I have just finished with a cognitive study but no concern with what is happening with my vision, any help or advice would be appreciated.

      Thanks,  Taylor

Hi taylor,

First, thanks for your service. Secondly, sorry about the TBI. Regarding your eye issues, I would keep looking for a doctor that will work with you to find the answers - maybe an ophthalmologist. This is an eye doctor who specializes in eye diseases, rather than an optometrist or opticians who aren't medical doctors.

And it sounds like it is time to see a Migraine specialist. What part of the country are you in? If your doctor isn't able to help you, it may well be time to consult a Migraine and headache specialist. It's important to note that neurologists aren't necessarily Migraine and headache specialists. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists.

I hope this helps, let me know, ok?

You are very welcomed, thank you for the reply,  I am currently at Fort Campbell , Ky I have been to opthamology, 2 neuro Docs and a psychologist, I have multiple lesions in Multiple areas of my brain- Occipital posterior, both cerebral hemispheres, periventricular on the rt side brain stem, frontal lobe, and an rounded ovoid area of signal void lateral to the optic nerve. I am not a Doc but seems to me that they may be over looking something or may not be as qualified as they should be. I just feel that Soldiers are not taken care of like we should be and it scares a lot of us...
