Hi Nikki!     Yes, a Migraine can, in the aura phase, make you smell things that are not there. This is called olfactory hallucinations - smelling odors that are not there. Anatomy of a Migraine is a great article explaining all the phases of Migraine.     This would be something you would want to discuss with your doctor in order to get a proper diagnosis.     You may also want to check out our article on successful doctor appointments: Migraineurs Guide to a Successful Doctor's Appointment. I have always found it beneficial to write down my questions and concerns before hand and bring two copies of the questions and concerns with me to my appointment. That way, you and your doctor each have a copy to look at and go over. One he/she can keep in your chart, the other you can write notes on and keep with you.     If you are in need of a doctor, please check out our Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists link, and also Migraine and Headache Specialists: What's So Special?     Good Luck!
