Q: can you take other migraine medicine while on relpax like tylenol

i still get migraines while on relpax

Hi Jenk!  

 

As with any medications, including over the counters, like tylenol, we need to ask our doctors what is safe to take with what. If you are not getting relief from the Relpax and find it is not working that well for you, ask your doctor if s/he can suggest another triptan for you to try. Sometimes they even have samples, which is great!! You should always speak with your doctor before combining ANY drugs, supplements, anything - as they may counter act with each other.  

 

Another thing I want to bring up is Medication Overuse Headache. Taking Migraine abortive meds such as Relpax or any kind of pain med more than two or three days a week can make matters worse by causing medication overuse headache (MOH), aka rebound.
