    Seizure Activity?
    March 20, 2012

I have been suffering from chronic daily migraines since October, 2009.  My headache neurologist finally said there was nothing more he could do for me.  I am now being treated for chronic pain management by a neurologist at a Pain Management Center.  I still have break through pain, but recently experienced a new symptom.  I was attending a function and after being there for several minutes, I began to feel like I was in a "dream state".  I managed to successfully drive myself home although I'm not sure how.  I do not remember anything about the function I was attending.  Could this be a type of seizure associated with my migraines.  I am scheduled for an MRI, EEG and ultrasound of carotid arteries.

    Hi Rohnda,

My name is Drew, I have been suffering from headaches since 2008, at the same time I have suffered from seizures. Some days I would have only one or two up to more than twenty in a singal day. This past year i was at the Diamond clinic in Chicago, the said i suffer from New Daily Persistent Headaches and started a treatment, their treatment stoped working due to the rarity of the condition. The staff could not explain the seizures and told me they only treat the headache part of my condition. Since 2008 I have had many eeg's, Mri, mria's and a whole lot of other testing. From what my own research and some of my Doctors we fell the seizures are a cause of the headache. When the pain of the headache gets to a breaking point where the body can nolonger tolorate the mental and physcial abuse of the headache it creates what is know as a NES or a false seizuer. This dose not mean the seizure is fake or not real it only means that it does not show on a typical EEG. By all means the seizure is real, studies have proven seizure can be from migrain. I hope this helps.

Thanks Drew.  As you have, I also have had multiple MRI's, MRA and MRV.  I am scheduled for another MRI , and EEG and an ultrasound of my carotid arteries.  I am hoping for some answers as the symptoms I recently suffered were unlike any I have experienced before.  I will let you know if there is anything is uncovered that may help you.
