Q: what treatment do you advise for me and my condition

I am plagued with severe migraine headaches. My doctor keeps trying anti depressant medicines. I have bags of precscritptions of them that I cannot take!!! The side effects are worse than the migraines. one doctor diagnosed me with Occular Mialgia and her treatment was not with antipressants and it worked better than anthing my primary doctor has tried. She now the primary doctor has been trying meds to prevent the migrains instead of treating them. I have tried so many and wasted so much money on meds that I cannot take. I have horrible side effects from them all..

How long are you trying these medications? Side effects will often stop after a few weeks. Of course, you can't do that if the side effects are too severe, but some doctors don't let people know that the side effects may stop.

I've never heard of "ocular Mialgia;" it's certainly not a recognized form of Migraine.

Nobody can advise treatment for you via the Internet. The only person who can do that is a doctor who can review your and your family's medical history, discuss your symptoms with you, and conduct a complete examination. Nobody can diagnose via the Internet.

It sounds as if it's time to find a new doctor to treat your Migraines. It's important to note that neurologists aren't necessarily Migraine and headache specialists. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists.

Regarding preventive medications, don't give up hope! There are now over 100 medications and supplements that can be used for Migraine and headache prevention. The frustration of trying to find what works for us can make it seem as if we've tried it all, but with so many possible preventives, it's literally impossible to have tried them all. See Migraine preventive medications - too many options to give up! for more information.

Please keep me posted?:
