I get severe headaches, where do I start to get help?

Patricia Hudak

I have always gotten headaches. I associated them with sinus problem, would wake up with a headache, drink a cup of coffee and take Advil and go off to work. I noticed that humidity definitely affected and I would blame the headache on the humidity. I was a teacher and several of us, suffered with these symptoms. I only used aspirin, tylenol and Advil to treat the headaches and would be very careful about only taking the recommended amounts and spaced the time that I would take the headache remedies. I never really did anything about it, yes we were teachers so tension was a consideration but I would wake with the headache and did not think it was that.

Right now, I am concerned because I am retired and have no tension. I have had a headache for 7 days. I went to the ER and they did a Cat Scan and it was negative and was told to contact my family physician. It is the weekend and we are having rainy weather, so I consider humidity another factor.

Yes , rainy days make it worse or bring on a headache.  I have found great sucess from Effexor XR, Flexeril, at night which relaxes the muscles and stay away from ALL sugar free products...diet sodas, gum, mints and flavored water.
