I had my ovaries removed in September and have grown a new one. How common is this? I have had one injection of Lupron and am due for another soon.  I dont have anymore estrogen but am still having terrible migraines.  I was hoping for a "fix all" but it didnt happen for me.

Kristin,

I have no idea how common it is to grow a new ovary. That's not our area of expertise.

As for the Migraines -- lack of estrogen can be a trigger too. Removal of the ovaries doesn't necessarily mean no more Migraines. It can help, make things worse, or make no difference at all.

We seldom have only one trigger for our Migraines. Do you know of any other triggers you have? When working to identify triggers one of the best tools is a good Migraine diary. You can read more about this and download a free diary workbook in our article Your Migraine and Headache Diary.

Good luck,

Teri

Thank you Teri!! I have so many triggers that change all the time!! Estrogen was about the only constant I have had.  I hit 40 and everything went bonkers!!!  My triggers are..... everything right now.  I hate journaling!!! BUT I did download your Migraine diary and will begin.  My migraines are so out of control.  I got my second injection of Lupron today.  I am trying to eliminate all milk.  That was a huge trigger when I was younger and I never have been able to drink milk, then sort of slowed down, but now, who knows.  I just want them to stop, even if for just a little while. Thanks for all you do for us "migrainers".  Kristin

Kristin,

Whar is it about turning 40? That was a bad time for me too!

Good deal on keeping a diary to try to identify triggers. Please keep me posted?

Don't give up, Kristen! We can't let the disease win, and there are many things to try.
