My neurologist has basically thrown up her hands in trying to prevent my migraines.  I recently began biweekly acupuncture treatments which seem to provide the most help.  However, I am so tired of losing time with my 3 wonderful daughters, constantly asking them to quiet down, and not being able to share experiences with them.  I would love to find someone who is willing to start over with me to find something that really helps.  Currently, when I get one I take Vicoprofen (2), Amerge, and Phenergan (2), and hope these will allow me to sleep it off.  It sucks, because my insurance company will only give me 4 Amerge at a time, so I have to pick and choose when to take it.  I am extremely depressed and taking Cymbalta, but I miss having a life! Please help, if you can!

My first real experience with chronic head pain...

Tuesday, June 17, 2008

Hi mamatw3gs,

It is very difficult to raise a family with Migraine disease. Some people have luck with acupuncture in addition to traditional medication.

Depending on where in IN you live, you will have to travel to another state to see a true Migraine specialist. Some people here travel from PA to TX to see their specialist and have their lives back again. We have a list of patient recommended specialist you can see HERE.

A true Migraine specialist is a doctor who devotes his/her entire practice to Migraine disease and headache disorders. Neurologists, may be fine doctors, but treat so many different conditions it is hard for them to be true experts in any one area. I hope this help.
