I have this exact same thing, although it sounds like yours may be more severe. (I'd scale mine at 8-10) I have never found anyone else who's had it, much less described it so well. Mine is also often triggered by looking to one side for long time. I had no idea what it was (too skelaxin for it for years) until I went to a neurologist who did indeed diagnose it as a type of migraine. He prescribed Imitrex which I used with pretty good success for years, now I use Maxalt. The key is to take i before it gets too bad. If I wait too long I can usually still mitigate the pain with the meds, but it lasts for several days. If I catch it at the beginning sometimes I ca actually head it off at the pass. I am actually excited to 'meet' someone else who has experienced this. I thought I was the only one!
