I see many sites refering to a study done by Michigan university using Precision Tinted Lenses to help reduce migraines. Are these presciption lenses? What are you thoughts on the study and applicability. Thank you, lisa

Hi Lisa. I saw your question and it struck a familiar chord. I recently stumbled into a similar link of tinted leneses in research in the UK (?) in migraine benefit. in continuted searching, I found that the Irlen institute has been working with people with sensitivity to light from some time now and often starts with colored acetate overlays - for school and reading, computer it is basic and cheaper for many. But they do have precision color tinted lenses. And contacts. They are not prescription. These are to be a more practical and all around useful solution, especially for people like us.

I know this because I met with an Irlen representative myself. What the Michigan study says about patterns, I found absolutely to be the case with the colored lenses. I was floored! I do not know if it will have an impact on my migraine issues. But I can tell that it has an impact on my brain. I was really impressed. I understand that not everyone is effected in this way. But the Irlen people have actualy been working with this scenario for quite a while so it may be a good place to start.
