Familial Hemiplegic Migraine?

Where can I find other sufferers of Familial Hemiplegic Migraines to talk to? I don't much about how these forums, blogs etc. work. My son has suffered for 10 years, and has recently had an extreme increase in frequency to 1-2 attacks per day for the past 2-3 weeks. We are seeking professional help preferably in California. PFO? Rife? Biofeedback?

Thank you for any information you can provide.

Hi Cindy!

You can find FHM sufferers right here on our site! A number of FHM sufferrs are forum members, and it's a great place for discussions. You can get to the forum by clinking the blue Connect button on the top of your screen. Then, go to Migraine Forums. You will have to create another log in to post in the forum, but feel free to use the same email and password you used for the Share Post/Q&A side. You can reach the forum by clicking right here: My Migraine Connection Forum.

If you are searching for more information on Hemiplegic Migraine, check out this article:   Hemiplegic Migraine - The Basics

Also, when dealing with FHM, you really should seek out a Migraine Specialist due to the symptoms of this particular type of Migraine. See Migraine and Headache Specialists, What's So Special - and also our Patient Recommended Migraine Specialist list.

Good Luck!

This animation shows one of the key causes of pain during a migraine--changes to the blood flow within the brain.
