The best thing to do for vertigo that's a symptoms of Migraine is to prevent as many Migraines as possible and treat those we do get as aggressively as possible. Without more information from you, it's difficult to know what other information to suggest to you.
What I will say that I would say to anyone with problem Migraines is if your doctor isn't able to help you, it may well be time to consult a Migraine and headache specialist. It's important to note that neurologists aren't necessarily Migraine and headache specialists. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists. Working with the right doctor really can make a world of difference.
I'm not an expert by any means, but I had BPPV (a type of vertigo based on positioning) and noticed after my bout with vertigo my migraines have gotten progressively worse (BPPV was 3-4 years ago, migraines started getting bad 2-3 years ago). When I first got the vertigo- I saw my general doc- they sent me to physical therapy and we worked out a lot of knots that seemed to be causing the vertigo itself- turns out a few years later, those same knots - or at least in the same spots- are also present with a lot of migraines! PT taught me exercises to stretch my neck and work my head into the positions that caused the worst vertigo and how to keep it there as long as possible to help alleviate the vertigo. I think we did 8-12 sessions and by the end, my BPPV was gone.
I'd definitely get checked out though, especially if you're getting migraines too- positioning can trigger migraines in a lot of people- maybe one will cause the other until resolved?
