Q: Pamelor and Zoloft taken together for Chronic Daily Migraine

Has anyone taken these two medications together and if so what side effects have you had? I am taking both and exhausted all of the time. I then get anxiety and racing thoughts at a certain point during the day. Anyone else experience this?

Hi Kelly,

I'm sorry you are having a difficult time now. I can tell you that these medications are used to treat Migraines, but you really need to ask your doctor this question. There are factors to be considered in addition to possible interactions between these two medications -- any health issues/conditions you may have, and ALL other medications you are taking including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, dietary supplements, etc.

We have information on both medications you can find in these links: Zoloft and

Pamelor (nortriptyline) tricyclic

I hope this helps,

Nancy

Hi kelly i see that your post is over a year on the pamalor and the zoloft i take both of thease meds , but the zoloft is not for prevention it works on the other chemical on your brain for depression reasons.. I take topamax and it causes depression and thats why i started on the zoloft.. Do you still take the pamalor ? it works good for me but i believe its the main reason i have a fast heart rate now and i have to take a beata blocker to keep the rate down and that makes me real tired... its a pain...

not sure if i will stay on the zoloft the first couple of months it maid me feel real good now i dont think its doing that much and i increased the dose... ok talk to you later michele
