The warnings to be cautious when using these medications together are because of the possibility of serotonin syndrome. You can read about that in Antidepressants, Triptans, and Serotonin Syndrome.
As for whether you should take Cymbalta and Imitrex, only your doctor can answer that question safely.

Cymbalta is not on the list but I am on Effexor for depression. I remember the first time I got a triptan filled, the pharmacist talked to me about the possibility of Serotonin Syndrome. It's good to know the symptoms just in case. Have you talked to your doctor about possible interactions? I don't know much about Cymbalta and what neurotransmitters it works with, but you might want to get some info just so know what to watch for.
