Q: Double visions and vertigo

Double visions, spinning rooms, auras - does anyone get all three of these symptoms with their migraine attacks?

I will, without warning, get a double vision (sometimes my right eye will actually pull to the right) or out of nowhere the room will just start spinning.  Sometimes they both happen at once.  I have had MRIs and Cat Scans. They show nothing.  I don't even like having my kids in the car, because I don't have any warning of these attacks.

It's to a point, where I am afraid to turn my head quickly or bend over.  I have pressure and headaches every day, and I am "So Tired".

Thanks for any input!!

Hi So Tired,

These may be symptoms of a Migraine attack, but a diagnosis if Migraine requires symptoms other than headache --dizziness, nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light or sound. You can read more about the phases of a Migraine attack and their symptoms in Anatomy of a Migraine. I'd really like to be able to tell you what type of Migraine/headache disorder you have but a diagnosis can only be provided by a doctor who can review your medical history, discuss your symptoms, and conduct a complete exam in person.

Speaking of diagnosis, one of the most important things is to get an accurate one. To simplify matters and make it easier for people to get information and treatment, doctors usually go by the gold standard for diagnosis, the International Headache Society's International Classification of Headache Disorders, 2nd Edition (ICHD-II).  Take a look at this article for more information: The Type of Migraine Does Matter.

I hope this information helps,

Nancy
