Hi mitchem123,

One of the most important things is to get an accurate diagnosis. To simplify matters and make it easier for people to get information and treatment, doctors usually go by the gold standard for diagnosis, the International Headache Society's International Classification of Headache Disorders, 2nd Edition (ICHD-II). Under ICHD-II.You can read more about the importance of a correct diagnosis in The Type of Migraine Does Matter.

If your doctor isn't able to help you, it may well be time to consult a Migraine and headache specialist. It's important to note that neurologists aren't necessarily Migraine and headache specialists. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists.

 I hope this helps,

Nancy

Well I have low blood pressure also like 80/50 almost all the time except I have never fainted, but my doctor said he is surprised that I haven't being that my BP is that low. I also suffer from migraines but unfortunately mine are all the time. If you are having seizures when you faint/have a migraine you can go talk to your doctor and he can refer you to a specialist who can do some tests. My brother has seizures where he just stares off into space but they found out in those tests that he has them every 5 minutes in his sleep. So if you are in fact having them, maybe it's a good idea to talk to your doctor to see about having those tests done. I think the names are like EEG, EKG or something like that. Hopefully this helps!
