Q: Are pains behind the ear a day before the headache common migraine symptoms?

I do have a history of migraine which usually begins with either aura of "northern lights" or pain over my right eye or the feeling that my right ear has been stretched inside (no ear pain). Recently I had sharp, shooting, irregular pains behind my right ear off and on for most of one day. I did not develop a migraine until the next day. Is this a common symptom?

Hi Sara,

Each person may have different Migraine symptoms from the next. There are some basic symptoms that most people have, but certainly one can have more "unusual" symptoms. If it is something you are concerned with, please contact your doctor.

Good luck
