Does anyone have a non-drug treatment that may help until she can get in to see a doctor?
She vomits continually during the episodes.

Hi Darla,
Why is it taking months for your daughter to see a doctor? Can't her doctor see her sooner? If she is scheduled to see a Migraine specialist, I can understand the wait, but certainly her regular doctor could see her if he knew how much she is vomiting during her "episodes."
I know of nothing "natural" that can stop a Migraine once it's started. There are supplements that can be used for prevention. You can find them listed in Migraine preventive medications - too many options to give up! Please remember that, "natural" or not, these substances are drugs. They have potential side effects and potential interactions with each other and prescription medications. You should always talk to your doctor before taking them.
If your daughter is taking Migraine abortive meds such as triptans or any kind of pain med (even over-the-counter medication like Tylenol or Advil) more than two days a week, a big part of your problem may well be medication overuse headache (MOH), aka rebound. See Medication Overuse Headache - When the Remedy Backfires for more information on this. If you're in an MOH situation, nothing you take is going work, neither prescription nor "natural" medications nor over-the-counter. If that's the case, you need to work with your doctor to stop the medications causing the problem.
I hope this helps,
Nancy
Nancy is totally right. I'd get her in to see a family doctor or pediatrician immediately.
There are some things that help with coping even though they don't necessarily abort or prevent the migraine attacks.
- ice packs
- running hot water over her hands
- guided relaxation
- meditation
- aromatherapy
- drinking plenty of water (hydration is extremely important)
- acupressure
- focus on breathing
- ginger ale or ginger tea can help with nausea
Acupuncture is an effective preventative and abortive for some people.
